The ‘standing-room-only‘ launch event for our publication, Blue Skies: New thinking about the future of higher education, took place on the morning of 23 May 2011 at our 80 Strand Office.
Three authors from the publication, Universities Minister David Willetts, Rod Bristow of Pearson and Wendy Piatt of the Russell Group, gave short speeches and then took questions from the audience.
Launch event photos are here and the videos of the speakers can be viewed below.
The launch event was originally posted on thePearsonThinkTank.com. Below are the responses to the original post.

I gained much from the event and was able to make some valuable contacts from networking prior to the address by distinguished speakers.
It is good to see Pearson actively engaged in Government thinking to influence and inform policy. Blue Skies thinking provides much food for thought and action to meet the needs of our customers.
Please keep me informed of future events.
An opportunity ‘not to be missed’ to network and hear further explanation of HE strategies/policy from Minister and Wendy Piatt CEO Russell Group.
One identified outcome was growing concern of the lack of careers advice and guidance, not only information provision, for high achievers unsure of their future progression.
Very useful – very engaging.
Very engaging. I would be very interested in a discussion on the role of the private sector in HE.
Interesting, valuable. Time afterwards for networking would be useful, as would more access to information about the publication. Otherwise a very good event!
