The world beach volleyball championship ended in Rome.
The winners of the men’s tournament for the first time in the world were the Norwegians Anders Mol and Kristian Sjorum. They are full European champions and winners of the Olympic Games in Tokyo. In the CS final the Norwegians beat the Brazilians Renato and Victor Felipe 2-0 (21:15, 21:16).
“Another Brazilian duo Andre Stein/Jeorge Vanderlei took the bronze medal. This was Stein’s second CS medal. In 2017 he won the tournament together with Evandro.
The women’s world champions were 23-year-old Brazilians Duda and Ana Patricia. They had previously won the U21 World Youth Championships twice (2016, 2017). In the final they beat the Canadians Sofi Bukovets and Brendi Vilkerson by 2-0 (21:17, 21:19). “The German Svenja Müller and Sindja Tilmann won the bronze medal.
