American golfer won his sixth major
Famous American golfer Phil Mickelson won the PGA Championship.
The sportsman became the oldest champion in the history of the major. At the time of his victory Mickelson was 50 years and 11 months old. The previous record holder was Julian Boros, who won the 1968 PGA Championship at the age of 48 years and 4 months. Mickelson shot 73 in the final round and beat two strokes over two-time PGA Championship champion Brooks Koepka.
Note that this is Mickelson’s 45th PGA Tour title and sixth major. Mickelson last won a major in 2013 when he was the strongest player at the British Open.
