Arkane is one of the many studios now part of Microsoft after the corporation bought Bethesda. Since then, however, the French company has only released one game, Deathloop. And that one was on PC/PS5 because Bethesda had a temporary exclusivity deal with Sony.While Deathloop is slowly making its way to a release on Xbox, the American Arkane division in Austin, Texas, continues to work actively on Redfall – a modern attempt to create a multiplayer shooter about vampires.
However, while visually Redfall looks like an attempt to appeal to young people, there can be a lot of depth and possibility under the surface. In a new video, Arkane talked about vampires and vampire hunters. It also talked about the world of the shooter – this sandbox game will be much more interactive than usual in this type of game. And also it will be the biggest game of the team – bigger than Dishonored, Prey and Deathloop.
Speaking of size, if I remember correctly Talos from Prey is the size of five soccer fields. The size of Redfall could be described as “hold my beer.” So we definitely challenged the whole team to take on something this big.
According to the developers, only one mission in the game will include a map larger than the entire Talos Station.
Redfall is scheduled for release in the first half of 2023 for PC and Xbox Series. The game will be available on Game Pass from day one.
